True Sound on the road
Bowers & Wilkins and Aston Martin curate an elevated experience at Ynyshir in the heart of Wales

Bowers & Wilkins and Aston Martin are two iconic British brands driven by performance, passion and heritage. It is these shared values that brought us together for an exciting partnership focused on combining class-leading high-performance sound with the ultra-luxury that Aston Martin is renowned for.
Great sound on the road is an essential part of an immersive driving experience, so working with Aston Martin to integrate True Sound into the DNA of its vehicles created the perfect opportunity for our fusion of ideologies and expertise. The goal was simple: provide Aston Martin with an immersive, emotive and intense listening experience for its drivers – and by utilising cutting-edge Bowers & Wilkins technology, this was made possible.

True Sound on the road
In early summer 2025, Bowers & Wilkins and Aston Martin brought together the worlds of precision engineering, audio excellence and culinary artistry for an exclusive experience that celebrated their ongoing partnership. Hosted in the breathtaking surroundings of Wales’ Snowdonia National Park, the event invited a select group of media and tastemakers to witness a truly multi-sensory journey, defined by the thrill of performance and the power of True Sound.
At the heart of the experience was an unforgettable Aston Martin driving experience, soundtracked by Bowers & Wilkins. Guests were invited to get behind the wheel of an Aston Martin DB12, Vantage or DBX707. The iconic cars' dynamic performance was complemented by immersive soundscapes delivered by Bowers & Wilkins’ state-of-the-art audio systems. The journey was guided by a specially curated playlist, offering a soundtrack as finely tuned as the cars themselves.

A dining experience like no other
The trip culminated in a once-in-a-lifetime dinner at the critically acclaimed Ynyshir Restaurant, the only restaurant in Wales to hold two Michelin stars, led by the visionary Chef Patron and owner, Gareth Ward. Known for his passionate and innovative approach to harmoniously combining food and music, Gareth personally introduced each course of his 30-course tasting menu with a masterclass in preparing high-grade ingredients, paired with vinyl musical accompaniments curated by in-house DJ, Jacob Kelly, and played back through the Bowers & Wilkins speaker system, installed in the restaurant, throughout a five-hour set.
The evening began with a guided listening experience with the brand’s flagship 805 D4 loudspeakers, hosted by Andy Kerr, drawing a link between nearly 60-years of audio engineering excellence that is embodied by the speakers, which has directly enabled the brand to design automotive audio systems that have transformed expectations for how an in-car system can sound. DJ Jacob Kelly shared how he approaches music curation at Ynyshir, where the setlist is never the same from one dinner service to the next, further reinforcing why music is so important to Gareth’s vision for Ynyshir.

The dining experience at Ynyshir is truly unique and utterly original, fusing Japanese (and other Southeast Asian) and British cuisines with locally sourced ingredients of the highest quality. Gareth and his exceptionally talented team deliver one service a day, which runs for 4-5 hours. The constantly evolving tasting menu takes guests on a culinary journey through myriad flavours, many of which are Asian-inspired but also feature shellfish sourced from local estuaries and rivers. The result is a culinary experience like no other.
From start to finish, the event captured the spirit of the Bowers & Wilkins and Aston Martin collaboration, as well as highlighting the cultural heritage of these brands.
