Not only does the 600 Series offer an extensive range of speakers to choose from, but each one contains a wealth of advanced technology that enhances performance and heightens the listening experience. It’s this ground-breaking technology that we’re going to spotlight, so you can understand exactly what goes into making our 600 Series loudspeakers sound so incredible.
From our 800 Series Diamond to our 600 Series, we’re experts when it comes to audio technology. While engineering and crafting our loudspeakers, we continually seek ways to enhance them, and often this involves incorporating technology from more advanced models into our more affordable products. This is excellent news for hi-fi enthusiasts and anyone seeking premium sound without a premium price tag.

Precision at the top: the Decoupled Double Dome Titanium tweeter
The 600 Series is renowned for its precise and accurate high frequencies that deliver sound with exceptional clarity. Behind this beautifully detailed audio experience lies the Decoupled Double Dome Titanium tweeter – a proprietary Bowers & Wilkins technology found first on our latest 600 Series loudspeakers.
A tweeter is the small drive unit typically placed towards the top of a speaker’s cabinet – or even on top of it as with our 800 Series models – and they are engineered to deliver only the high end of the frequency spectrum.
For the Bowers & Wilkins 600 Series tweeter, we use a two-part tweeter dome construction known as the Decoupled Double Dome Titanium tweeter.
This features a high-performance 25-micron Titanium Dome™ tweeter, reinforced by a second 30-micron dome with the central portion removed surrounding its periphery. This helps isolate the tweeter dome, reducing unwanted resonances and coloration. It enhances performance by shifting the tweeter's break-up frequency – the point at which the dome starts to flex rather than move as a single unit – to a higher, less audible range. The result is reduced distortion and improved overall sound quality.

A clearer path for high frequencies: advanced tweeter grille mesh
While the technology we use to craft our tweeters is crucial for great sound, what houses the tweeter and protects it also contributes significantly to performance.
Our 600 Series’ Titanium tweeters are shielded behind a robust and lightweight tweeter grille mesh, optimised for acoustic transparency. First developed for our 800 Series Signature models, this tweeter grille mesh features an intricate pattern that provides more open space for sound waves to pass through, while maintaining a secure construction and an elegant-looking design.
With better transparency, the sound from your favourite music and movies is delivered with lifelike precision. It’s fine-tuning details like these that help bring you closer to the music you love.

Inspired by the 700 Series: longer tube loading for cleaner highs
What makes our 600 Series tweeters sound even more impressive is the carefully considered design of the connected tube loading system. The tube loading system is a narrow funnel that connects to – and extends back from – the tweeter dome. This is designed to reduce vibrations and resonances generated by the speaker cabinet, allowing the tweeter to operate more freely.
For the latest 600 Series, our engineers found that using a longer tube loading system, much like the one in our revered 700 Series loudspeakers, dramatically improved performance. The longer tube allows for better dispersion of sound waves and reduced internal pressure, resulting in less distortion and greater precision and clarity from notes and instruments.

Midrange that moves you: Continuum™ Cone clarity
Mid-range frequencies are the most audible by our ears, so it’s essential to pay close attention to the technology that delivers them. For this, we developed our Continuum Cone.
Directly inherited from our flagship 800 Series Diamond range, the mid-range Continuum Cone technology was introduced to the 600 Series to replace our previous Aramid fibre cones.
What makes the Continuum Cone so special is its woven composite material, which minimises unwanted resonances and distortions that can occur with traditional speaker cones. Coupled with the inclusion of the motor systems used in our 700 Series range, you can enjoy a more neutral and transparent sound where vocals and instruments are delivered with greater accuracy and detail.

Power with precision: revamped bass performance
As well as being celebrated for its beautiful mid and high frequencies, our 600 Series impresses when it comes to bass.
Each bass driver in the range has been revised to provide a tighter low-frequency response and improved integration with midrange and tweeter units. Thanks to its paper bass cone drivers – and again, motor systems from our 700 Series range – when you listen with any 600 Series model, you can expect powerful, dynamic, controlled bass.
With the 600 Series, bass performance feels authoritative and agile, perfectly suited for both cinematic rumble and musical nuance.

Seamless connectivity: revised speaker terminals
Great sound begins with a great connection. For this generation of the 600 Series, we upgraded the speaker terminals to ensure a more stable and secure physical connection with your amplifier. Borrowed from the 700 Series, the revised terminal layout offers improved spacing and ergonomics, making it easier to use spade connectors or bare wire with confidence.
This isn’t just about convenience – it’s about preserving signal purity from source to speaker, ensuring nothing gets in the way of your music.

The art behind the sound: re-tuned crossovers for seamless integration
While crossovers may be invisible to the listener, their role is fundamental in shaping the sound you hear. For the 600 Series, our engineering team has taken the time to completely revise and refine the crossover networks.
By carefully selecting component values and layouts, alongside the new tweeter and midrange, bass, and mid/bass driver designs, we’ve created smoother transitions between frequency bands. This ensures a more coherent and immersive listening experience, where each driver performs effortlessly within its optimal range. Whether you’re listening at low volume or turning it up for impact, the system remains balanced and natural.

Smart bass tuning: enhanced Flowport technology
Another subtle yet significant improvement is in the Flowport design – our proprietary bass reflex system. The 600 Series continues to use a dimpled port surface to reduce air turbulence, but with revised positioning and length for each model to match the updated drivers.
This smart tuning helps minimise unwanted noise and distortion, especially during powerful bass passages. Thanks to this careful Flowport tuning, your bass stays tight, tuneful and clean – whether your speakers are near a wall or out in the open.

Flexible placement, uncompromised performance
Flexibility is key for integrating speakers into modern living spaces. That’s why all the speakers in the 600 Series come equipped with threaded inserts on the bottom, designed for secure stand mounting. Not only does this help with optimal positioning and isolation, but it also ensures maximum stability in any setup.
Additionally, the inclusion of compatible wall-mounting screw points on models such as the HTM6 S3 and 607 S3 provides users with even more freedom to tailor their home audio setup without sacrificing performance. Whether you're placing your speakers on furniture, stands or walls, performance and practicality go hand in hand.

Exceptional sound at an affordable price
The 600 Series has always been about delivering exceptional sound at a sensible price. In this latest generation, that mission continues – but with even more high-end thinking.
By incorporating technologies from our 700 and 800 Series – like the Decoupled Double Dome Titanium tweeter, Continuum Cones and refined crossovers – we’ve pushed the boundaries of what an entry-level speaker can achieve. Every element has been carefully considered to deliver more clarity, detail and lasting impact.
This is Bowers & Wilkins engineering at its finest: utilising proven innovation to create something truly exceptional. The 600 Series doesn’t just make great sound more accessible – it sets a new standard for performance in its class.
