Our Year in Review: 2023

2023 was filled with high notes at Bowers & Wilkins.

2023 was filled with high notes at Bowers & Wilkins. From exciting product launches to new, burgeoning partnerships, unforgettable industry events, iconic collaborations and more, there’s much to be recognised from the year gone by.

To celebrate all these important milestones, we’re looking back at the key moments that made the last 12 months so special.

The launch of our Pi7 S2 and Pi5 S2 earbuds brought our True Wireless in-ear headphone technology to new heights, delivering all that glorious True Sound on the go with even more clarity and convenience. Plus, along with the arrival of the Px7 S2e wireless headphones, an ‘evolved’ version of our award-winning Px7 S2, our over-ear Px8 headphones received a fresh new look with the striking Royal Burgundy finish.

For lovers of loudspeakers, our latest 600 Series arrived and was met with exceptional reviews from some of the most trusted publications, including What Hi-Fi?, TechRadar, T3 and others. We also celebrated the 30th Anniversary of the world’s most iconic loudspeaker – the Bowers & Wilkins Nautilus. To honour the legacy of this legendary loudspeaker – a loudspeaker that embodies everything we stand for, a symbol of our quest for True Sound and the last wish of our founder, John Bowers – we created a one-of-a-kind pair finished in luxurious Abalone Pearl, accompanied by a short film, Beyond the Curve. We didn’t stop there. Our 800 Series Diamond loudspeakers received the coveted Bowers & Wilkins Signature treatment, optimising our flagship models to unparalleled levels of performance.

While we continued to strengthen our automotive partnerships, seamlessly integrating exhilarating Sound by Bowers & Wilkins into the architecture of the McLaren 750S and Artura, the BMW i5 and XM and the Volvo EX90, we forged a new partnership with the one and only Aston Martin – pairing high-performance sound with the ultra-luxury that the automotive marque is renowned for. Following up on the success of our Px8 McLaren Edition and taking our McLaren partnership one step further, we launched the elegant Zeppelin McLaren Edition, once again combining the iconic style of McLaren with the high-performance sound synonymous with Bowers & Wilkins.

As purveyors of True Sound and lovers of great-sounding music, we had the pleasure of working alongside some of the most exciting artists of the moment at the world’s most significant music events.

We sponsored the likes of the Mercury Prize Award, supplying the judges with our Px7 S2 headphones to reveal the True Sound of the albums and whittle down the submissions; we partnered with the British Music Embassy (BME) to support a week-long showcase of the UK’s hottest emerging musical acts at the world-renowned SXSW festival, powering all of the performances with the one-of-a-kind Bowers & Wilkins Sound System; we collaborated with the legendary James Blake to showcase a series of short films, delving into the magic behind his excellent sixth studio album, Playing Robots Into Heaven – and last, but by no means least, we once again joined forces with Record Store Day and Classic Album Sundays, sponsoring the cherished event and delivering the fourth instalment of our Behind The Counter video series.

It was a tremendous year for Bowers & Wilkins – and we can’t wait to show you what we’ve got in store for 2024. We’re sure you won’t be disappointed.
